M & T: The students will finish reading the allegory, Young Goodman Brown.

W & Th: The students will identify and interpret five faith allegorical statements from Young Goodman Brown.

F: The students will compete SAT-based vocabulary lesson 18 Words with Tales Attached.

M: School Holiday

T & W: The students will research the casting, location, music, set decoration, and props for a memo detailing pre-production plans for a movie version of The Raven.

Th: The students will complete SAT-based Vocabulary Lesson 17 Size and Shape

F: The students will type drafts of their Raven memo.

A.P. English III Lesson Plans for November 9 – 13, 2015

M: Counselor Jack Hale will meet with all classes to distribute and discuss the ASVAB results.

T: The student will complete the A.P. Literary Terms Test Part I A – H. Note: This test was announce the second week of school and can not be replaced by a nine weeks test.

W – F: The students will be in the library researching To Kill a Mockingbird and preparing their chapter lesson for the Student-Led Learning Project.

A.P. English III Lesson Plans for October 19 – 23, 2015

M: The students will complete the SAT-based vocabulary Lesson 8 from Sunny Spain.

T: The students will be grouped to begin work on a Powerpoint presentation on topics relevant to To Kill a Mockingbird. The presentations will serve as an introduction to the novel and count as a test grade. Discussion of requirements and assignment of topics.

W – F: The students will conduct library research on the To Kill a Mockingbird Powerpoint presentations.

A.P. English III Lesson Plans for September 7 – 11, 2015

M: School Holiday

T:Announce Rhetoric Test for Thursday, September 17. Assign extra-credit project due Oct. 1 for A.P. literary terms test. Teacher-generated notes on the three tenets of the American Dream. Define narrative and historical narrative. Read Captain John Smith biographical sketch, pg. 64 and introduce selection vocabulary and footnotes.

W: Postcards from Summer Reading due.(test grade)

W – F: The students will present their rhetorical analysis of selected  editorial cartoons to the class. (test grade)

Th: SAT-based vocabulary lesson 3 due.

 

A.P. English III Lesson Plans for August 31 – September 4, 2015

M: Summer Reading Test breakdown. The students will be introduced to the Art of Rhetoric unit. Notes and discussion.

T: Reading Survey due. Notes and discussion of the Rhetorical Appeals. Analysis of editorial cartoons and the rhetorical appeals utilized by the cartoonists.

W: The students will research and and choose individual editorial cartoons in the computer lab.

Th: SAT Vocabulary Lesson 2 due. Assignment requirements of rhetoric project: editorial cartoon analysis and presentation.

F: Timed Universal Screening.
